How is it already November?! It is crazy to look back at the year we’ve had and think about how the next few months will play out. Have you bought your first home? Sold your home and relocated to a new location? Whatever the case may be one thing is for certain…the Holiday’s are coming! Are you ready to safely host the holiday’s COVID style? If not…don’t worry! We are here to give you a few tips on preparing your home to host the holiday’s during a pandemic.

TIP #1: If you’re sick let your family/friends know!
Now is not the time to brush a sore throat under the rug…if you aren’t feeling well; even if you’ve ruled out COVID, let your guests know so they can make alternative arrangements. The last thing you want is to spread the virus (or any illness for that matter) to a loved one who may have underlying conditions. With that being said, it’s important to encourage your guests to do the same!

Tip #2: Host your get together outside
Take advantage of the warm weather and host dinner outside! Now is a better time than any to show off your revamped backyard to family and friends. For many, this will probably be the first time they’ve seen your new and improved space! Being outside allows you and your guest to safely social distance. It will also limit the amount of people inside your home for long amounts of time.

Tip #3: Limit the number of people handling or serving food
Avoid buffets or potluck style meals. It may be beneficial to have one person serve the food to ensure minimal contact on food utensils. Another idea is to use disposable dishes and utensils so that the items are discarded as soon as everyone is done eating.

Tip #4: Encourage essential hygiene!
Run…don’t walk to grab your favorite holiday scented hand soaps to accentuate all the decorating you’ve done to your home for the holiday’s.

Tip #5: Enjoy a VIRTUAL get together
Hey it’s 2020, and like most other things that have gone virtual so can other holiday events! Find ways to make it fun…such as having a holiday decorating contest amongst family!

Has everyone made their plans for the upcoming holiday’s? Do you have a plan in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable time. If not, now is the time. The holiday’s will be here and gone before you know it. It’s important that we all do our part to stop the spread of Coronavirus and start 2021 off on the right foot!
